The Doctor
The Oncoming Storm

Not Cardiff. Not Egypt, ancient or otherwise. However...

I'm excited! This is my first time visiting during this time period.

29th-May-2009 12:47 am (UTC)
Oh dear.
29th-May-2009 12:49 am (UTC)
Oh dear what?
29th-May-2009 12:51 am (UTC)
Um, nothing! Nothing at all!
29th-May-2009 12:53 am (UTC)
So far the worst thing that's happened is someone tried to sell me some fusion reactor coils that fell off the back of a space junker.
29th-May-2009 01:12 am (UTC)
That's... wonderful. Yes. Wonderful.
29th-May-2009 01:26 am (UTC)
Not the word I was going to use, but certainly not any cause for alarm.
29th-May-2009 01:33 am (UTC)
Of course not! Not in the least!
29th-May-2009 12:51 am (UTC)
ADORABLE. I'm such a sucker for big emo eyes!
29th-May-2009 01:10 am (UTC)
I know!
29th-May-2009 01:13 am (UTC)
29th-May-2009 01:20 am (UTC)
Quit it, kids. You walk all over me as it is! I'm defenceless!
29th-May-2009 01:20 am (UTC)
There is something a bit vulnerable about them, isn't there?
29th-May-2009 01:21 am (UTC)
Nothing like sad and emo to get Jack going.
29th-May-2009 01:26 am (UTC)
This is the most emo eye thread ever seen on LiveJournal!

Unless there's a Margaret Keane comm.
29th-May-2009 01:44 am (UTC)
I'm sure there is somewhere on the internet.
29th-May-2009 01:30 am (UTC)
I can't help it if I'm a sensitive guy!
29th-May-2009 01:24 am (UTC)
They're so soulful!
29th-May-2009 02:04 am (UTC)
The atmosphere does have a certain...je ne sais qua...I've seen the sight and now I'm ready to retire to almost any room in the TARDIS. I can say I saw Raxacoricofallapatorious during the reign of Rangaxorium the Rank (not his official title) and that's all I needed from this part of the trip. Coming, Andy?

Shut up, Jack. I heard that bad joke a million light years (and years) away.
29th-May-2009 02:09 am (UTC)
29th-May-2009 02:14 am (UTC)
Oh, you can't do that. We should go out and seek an adventure. Wasn't that crime family the news kept nattering on about the least bit interesting to you?
29th-May-2009 04:03 am (UTC)
Wait, let me weigh these two possibilities. Investigate a Slitheen crime family versus cuddling by the fire in the formal drawing room....

Now it's true that I would normally insist on the cuddly evening but Andy's a copper, and I think he might appreciate some investigating.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
29th-May-2009 04:46 am (UTC)
It wasn't the..... oops nevermind.....I'd better keep silent, but do have one piece of advice. Maybe let the local police force handle the crime family? You will avoid all sorts of problems....
29th-May-2009 12:14 pm (UTC)
Have you ever seen the Slitheen police? No? There might be a reason for that. No, no, they do have a police force. But since they ARE the crime family it seems self-defeating to let them handle the crime family. Except in the most intimate sense.

Yeah, the Slitheen are like that.

Besides, we're just curious. It's not like we're going to go off and tell on them to the Judoon or anything silly like that.
29th-May-2009 12:49 pm (UTC)
Ever heard the Earth expression, Curiousity killed the cat? Anyway, the Slitheen might be like that, but the rest of Raxacoricofallapatorious isn't so bad, at least that's what oops, better not say, who told me.......
29th-May-2009 06:21 pm (UTC)
As far as I can tell, pretty much everyone we've met had a Slitheen somewhere in their name. Then again, Raxacoricofallapatorious does do the whole hyphenated last name thing.
29th-May-2009 06:23 pm (UTC)
Of course we're not going to tell the Judoon! I don't even know what the Shadow Proclaimation is!
30th-May-2009 03:22 pm (UTC)
But you do know how the Judoon like to interfere in EVERYTHING!

You don't need to know what the Shadow Proclamation is to know that telling the Judoon is the equivalent of asking for thunking.
29th-May-2009 06:23 am (UTC)
Good no Egypt! Have a see at the beach! Don't they have beaches there? Can't you just enjoy the view you know? Have a pint, relax your hears, kick your feet up. Sing some Cole Porter?
29th-May-2009 12:16 pm (UTC)
relax your hears

Were it anyone else I'd consider this a typo and let it go. But since it's you I have to wonder what you mean.

And after the tsunami, why do you think we even want to see a bathtub, much less a beach? LOL!
29th-May-2009 03:10 pm (UTC)
:) Actually it was a typo induced by lack of sleep, but I can't say anything about the hears my slang for telepathic senses since you hear on more than one level ;).
29th-May-2009 06:24 pm (UTC)
Besides, the beaches seem to be a bit more polluted than I remember reading about.
30th-May-2009 03:21 pm (UTC)
I think I can safely tell you without fear of spoilers that it'll get worse before it gets better.

It always does. Everywhere. And everywhen.
29th-May-2009 07:24 pm (UTC)
I have found a previously unopened pack of custard cream biscuits, and the Slitheen are unable to compete with homesickness. I am so much more in the mood for T, tea and me.... The sofas in the formal room are too upright for later on in the evening so we shall relocate, maybe to the wardrobe room for some fun dressup.

Doc, remember to knock. You have been requested!
30th-May-2009 04:19 pm (UTC)
Andy, you are just so sweet. Yeah, I think a little time in the formal room and then some time in the wardrobe would be just the thing right now.

The Slitheen, at least, are just an annoyance at the moment.
